I'm not happy unless I'm creating something.  Mucking about in the studio, seeing Art in everything.  It gets a bit messy.

I'm a bit if a 'medium' junkie - I've tried most of them.  Painting, drawing, calligraphy, illumination; spinning, weaving, batique, sewing, pottery, enameling, printing, wire work, and various glass pursuits. 

I'm also a member of the medieval group known as the Society for Creative Anachronism, which has been a great outlet for my art endevours.

I stumbled upon lampworking and fell in love with it.  Or did I become addicted?  Well, perhaps a bit of both.  Suffice it to say for the last few years I have been focusing on Glass work. This craft goes back to Pre-Viking times. Although the materials, equipment and techniques have changed, the basic process remains. Molten glass is spun, using various techniques, over a heat source, to form the beads, vessels and buttons I make. Each bead is a work of Art in itself. All my work is fully annealed and I sell finished jewellery pieces as well as individual feature pieces and smaller beads. 

Some of my jewellery and lampwork pieces have been published in Bead Trends Magazine; July 2009, December 2009, January 2010 and upcoming issues March 2011.
